Not to overlook FIU, but.....
Is it too early to start scouting the September 8th Notre Dame game? Joe usually prefers to have only one night game per year. Is this it? Or is it the October 27 Ohio State game?

Tuesday Morning Quarterback
Having a rather brutal stretch of work/class the past couple of weeks, I was unable to watch the BCS Championship game beyond halftime. But there are several things that should be noted:
1. Ted Ginn Jr. injured himself, and his team's chances of the Championship, celebrating in the first quarter.
2. The SEC's baseless reputation for "Speed" will be perpetuated again thanks to some pretty inept football from THE ohio state university. Now we have to listen to yet another year of Corso blathering on and on abou the conference being 'faster'. Thanks tOSU.
3. Although it's beyond me why Sports Illustrated would hire a Northwestern grad as its College Football Writer, Stewart "I Piss Everyone Off" Mandel made a little bit of sense in his Early Look Ahead: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/stewart_mandel/01/09/look.ahead/index.html
Well, only 3+ weeks until National Signing Day (get ready for the ESPN hype machine!), and a little over 3 months until the Spring Scrimmage.........
For the glory.....

Big Ten Bust
I agree that Ohio State should have executed a normal big ten game plan on offense. The announcers talked about how they would spread the field and change things up but they had spread the field all year. They should have come out and powered it at the gators right off the bat but that's just second guessing; here's what i do know.
Chris leak isn't good and on any play when osu blitzed, he threw the ball 50 yards out of bounds. Why did osu keep playing a soft zone and letting him complete that crap???
I also agree that the big ten looks silly now and deservedly so... But looking at the rankings osu still finished 2nd and mich and wiscy in the top ten so all will be forgotten by fall...
Maybe we can dominate the worst conference in the country all the way to a title berth next year...

BCS Affect On PSU
If D-will and the rest of the guys plan on winning a BCS Championship next year they will not have the Buckeyes to thank for it. If there are more than 2 undefeated teams, or like this year just one with a lot of 1 - loss teams, the big 10 will not get their team in as OSU got demolished by an SEC team. Sadly, I think OSU thought they were better than they really were and got away from a normal big 10 game plan to first establish the run, then throw the ball down the field. I think PSU's conservative nature would have had a better chance of winning this game than the OSU game plan, and kudos to Florida for not throwing a single pass 10 yards down the field. I know thats an exxageration but it felt like every pass was within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage.
